About Isiri

Isiri is 13 years old and she'll soon be starting High School at Stanton College Prep Jacksonville, Florida. She has been fortunate to be the disciple of Guru. Kalashri Asha Gopal, Arathi School of Dance Phoenix since 2014. It is with sheer dedication and discipline from her Guru that she is able to step on to the stage for a maiden solo performance "Arangetram/Rangapravesha". She started learning the beautiful art form at the tender age of 5 from Guru Smt.  Vijayalakshmi Shetty of Natraj Dance Academy Chicago and later on with Gurus. Dr. Ratna Kumar and Sri. Venugopal Josyula at the Anjali Center for Performing Arts Houston.

Isiri aspires to be an Orthodontist in the future, has made her parents and grandparents proud by receiving many  Awards and Accolades in Academics.  She is a recipient of  " President's Award for Academic Excellence" from President Barack Obama.  Recently she was recognized as a middle school Scholar.  She has been a part of Elementary Honor Society and currently an active member of the National Junior Honor Society at her school.  

Apart from Bharatanatyam she plays the piano and has played at many Honors Recitals. She has received The Talent Star Award for Bharatanatyam performance at school  Her other interests include Gymnastics, Swimming, Volleyball, traveling, listening to music, watching TV, and spending time with loved ones.  She has volunteered at the Homeless Shelter, Ben's Bells Kindness project, Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Teen Court as Attorney and received the Top Youth Fund Raiser Award by the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in 2017. Isiri is currently pursuing a two-year diploma in Bharatanatyam from Bangalore University. 

Bharatanatyam has taught her time management skills, discipline, love, and appreciation for the art form.  She seeks the Blessings of God, Guru, and elders as she gets ready to ascend the stage
